Manage a technical staff of 2-3 employees. Work with scheduler to assign work orders to align with employees skill set. Perform mid-year and annual reviews. Schedule overtime as needed.
Demonstrate knowledge of electrical / instrumentation / control building equipment and systems required to operate and maintain a large pharmaceutical facility. Demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions to maximize the condition of facility structures and assets.
Plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical apparatus, control equipment and wiring used in industrial light and power distribution systems including equipment such as generating equipment, panels, automatic switches, variable frequency drives, complex circuit breaking units, transformer units, substations, and alarms.
Perform complex electrical construction work and installs all types of electrical raceways and bus work, performing the necessary measuring, cutting, threading, bending and assembling of conduit and using the necessary tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader, threading tools, etc..
Troubleshoot and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties in motors, and other equipment. Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade and install all electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems.
Read and interpret blue prints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings
Interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completion of assignments in a safe, environmentally compliant manner.
Safely use a large variety of hand and shop power tools.
Complete all documentation by required deadlines. Document accurately and clearly in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) all work actually performed and hours actually required. Complete all other work associated with the assignment working cooperatively with other trades. Perform all incidental /associated work required to complete the job assignment. Work with minimal supervision.
Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient and clean operating condition.
Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective clothing / equipment where specified.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience and training in reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance of all electrical equipment with journeyman status in the craft.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
Vocation or technical school certification (State accredited school).
Obtain and maintain all required licensing and certification associated with the position.
Valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Pass written department electrician test.
Ability, skill and knowledge to use a variety of electrical testing instruments and apparatus. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, SOP's, NFPA 40E, and work instructions as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to adequately perform required job functions. This includes lifting, bending and moving such as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner.
Must be able to safely work on and ascend / descend ladders.
Must be able to operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation and equipment required by this trade in a safe and approved manner.
Must be able to wear respirators, hoods and proper PPE.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Environmental conditions will vary based on job being performed.
Work may take place in either the maintenance shop and /or in the plant depending upon the job requirements.
